Silicon manufacturing process mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: The main raw materials of silicone include silicon powder and silicone precursor. Silicon powder usually uses high-purity electronic grade silicon powder, while silicone precursor includes compounds such as hydroxyl, ethylene, and propylene.
Synthesis reaction: The synthesis of silicone can be carried out by direct or indirect method. The direct synthesis method is to heat and reduce the silicone precursor and silicon powder under an inert atmosphere; the indirect synthesis method is to first synthesize the precursor into silicone hydride and then react with silicon powder.
Purification and subsequent treatment: The synthesized silicone needs to be purified, usually through steps such as distillation, concentration and crystallization. The purified silicone also needs to be modified, processed and applied.
Specific product preparation: Taking dimethylcyclosiloxane (DMC) as an example, its manufacturing method includes adding methanol and silicon dioxide to a reactor in proportion, heating and adding a catalyst, and separating DMC by fractionation after the reaction. During this process, the reaction temperature and time need to be controlled to avoid over-reaction or under-reaction.
Environmental protection and production efficiency considerations: During the production process, waste gas and wastewater may be generated, which need to be treated to reduce the impact on the environment. At the same time, there will be a certain amount of DMC loss during the distillation process, which needs to be controlled in production. With the improvement of environmental awareness, exploring new environmentally friendly production processes and technologies has become an important direction.
